MUSICAL FRIENDS and CLIENTS

Here are some of the projects I've worked on over the last few years. Many of these folks have samples of their music on the web. Check 'em out, and support independent local music!

Mark Tiger Edmonds new CD features his amazing voice, along with some haunting "high lonesome" music on guitar, fiddle, and banjo

Laura Light is a talented fiddler/vocalist/songwriter from Virginia who travels the world playing concerts, dances, and festivals . I helped produce this CD, which was recorded in no less than 5 different studios, from Florida to San Francisco!

Mike Jurgensen released his long-awaited solo CD in 2001. The Album features his world-class voice and introspective lyrics, plus a host of great Tampa Bay Area musicians.

Bonnie Whitehurst, one of Florida's most talented singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, on her set of seven CDs. My personal favorite album, pictured here, features Bonnie's piano plus some of the finest jazz musicians in Florida.

Listen to a 2000 public radio interview with Bonnie with excerpts from the new album

I was the engineer for most of this on-location recording originally produced by the late Florida Folklife Bureau. We traveled around the state, recording at Black churches and religious conventions. The album has since been issued by Arhoolie Records and was selected by STEREOPHILE Magazine as their "Album of the Month" in Feb. 1998!

"Klezarchy," one of three albums of Klezmer music from a band that plays for fun in the Gainesville, Florida area, features some great Jewish tunes and original songs

The WMNF Community Radio "Fish Out of Water" CD, a fund-raising premium combined some of the best live concert and live studio performances by an incredible range of stars in the folk/acoustic/Americana musical world.

The CD proved a spectacular success, generating thousands of dollars for the station. Two sequels have also done very well...

"THERE ARE NO RULES" CD by Diane Jones and Hubie King contains some of the finest old time banjo and fiddle playing you're likely to hear anywhere. We recorded it on the top of a mountain outside of Elkins, West Virginia and, if you listen carefully, you can hear the crickets.

New Strings is the beautiful CD from Clearwater, Florida based group Myriad. The album features songs by some of the best of Florida's songwriters, as well as a sampling of originals, all done in sparkling four part harmony.

I enjoyed working on "Another World", and "New Leaf," two CDs with Pam and Danny Rubenstein of Tampa. Both celebrate the spiritual teachings of Meher Baba, and contain a lot of catchy songs, besides!

Some of the funniest people I've ever met are the guys that call themselves the 97th Regimental String Band. We've done seven albums of 19th century music together.

The Mando Mafia are six great musicians from Charlottesville VA...this 1993 album is one of my favorite projects.

I've produced Virginia Storyteller and Musician Bill Wellington's seven Kids' projects, three of which have won national awards.

My own album of Music for Meditation, Massage, and general relaxation. Some people claim to have never heard the end of it!

The four "OPERA FOR EVERYONE" releases by Dr. Ira Ross are a great way to introduce young and old to the joys of Opera.

My Favorite Composer:

Ralph Vaughan Williams ...(pron. Rafe) ... 1872-1958
